LG Optimus GT540 users have a reason to cheer, since LG recently announced that an Android OSupdate is available for the Optimus GT540 smartphone. This handset originally runs on the Android 1.6 OS, but now it will be updated to the Android 2.1 Operating System.
The upgrade will enable the following on your handset:
- Android Eclair (2.1)
- Multiple Accounts
- Quick Contacts Interface
- HTML5 Support in Browser
- Microsoft Exchange Support
- Live Wallpapers
- Bluetooth 2.1 Support
You will need to update your handset manually since this update is not available Over-The-Air (OTA). It is advised to backup all your data before updating the device.
